If you ever want to get a very odd look, pay for a hotel room with quarters. The poor desk clerks jaw just hit the counter as I started making piles of 4 quarters on the counter.
Made it safely to Louisiana (as did my mother and sister). It was only a 21 hour drive. We will be in the shelters first thing tomorrow. I have learned lots just in my short time here (with much more to learn tomorrow).
